A lot of our brides are LDS brides looking to be married in one of the LDS temples. Weddings in the temples have changed a bit over time, and are likely to keep changing, however did you know that most of the busiest temples do not currently allow brides to wear their wedding gowns in the temple for their ceremony? While it is still important to find a wedding gown that will adhere to the LDS churches modesty standards, should you be marrying in the LDS temple, it is not actually necessary to purchase a stark white gown because you will most likely not be wearing your gown during your ceremony anyway. Now, we aren't saying you absolutely won't be able to- but the standard for most temples is that they would prefer that you not, as wedding dresses are (by nature) distracting. When I was married I was told by the LDS temple workers that I "could wear my dress if I was going to throw an absolute fit about it, but they would prefer that I did not." Well, who's going to throw a fit in an LDS temple? :) What does this mean for you? It means you will select a cute little white temple dress to wear in the temple during your ceremony, and every time you return to the temple you will get to wear that same cute little dress that you were married to your sweetheart in. It also means you can wear a wedding gown of any color you choose. So if you happen to be one of those modern brides who prefers a pink dress, or a grey dress, or a champagne dress, then you go girl, nothing's stopping you. ;)
