The Holly wedding gown was perfect on Sarah!  Even though she had to change her wedding venue due to Covid-19 her wedding day was a beautiful day to remember!

Where did you and your fiancé meet?

At a mutual friend’s wedding

How did he propose?
A photoshoot in the Colorado snowy mountains. A heart was drawn in the snow with rose petals and candles surrounding the heart.

Describe your wedding in 4 words:
Simple, Beautiful, Intimate and Timeless

What did you splurge on/save on?
Splurged on wedding dress and wedding Photo/video and I saved on cake, flower and wedding venue.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Having my family all around

Any advice for future brides?
Spend the extra money on your wedding photographer and get a wedding videographer you love. The wedding pictures and video capture the moments you don't want to forget. You may forget the details of the wedding flowers, the food the DJ and the venue, but you will have the pictures for ever, make them good.

Flowers were made from my aunt using flowers from Hobby Lobby.

Additional comments:
COVID changed and altered our plans. We were able to relocate to a small backyard wedding, and my father was able to marry my husband and me. While 2020 has been challenging, I was still able to get married. Even if it wasn't the way I had envisioned or planned, I did not have everything on my list but the most important thing was the union of my now husband and me. At the end of the day, a wedding is a celebration of love. Celebrations come in more than one size, mine was still perfect in its simple way.

Jaimee wore the Holly wedding gown with cap sleeves for her special day. Jaimee had a seamstress alter the neckline to a sweetheart neckline and paired the Holly with an adorable waist sash for a customized look. Congratulations to Jaimee and her new hubby!

Pro-Tip: How To Repurpose Your Bridal Gown and Veil

1/21/2019

The wedding is over, you're blissfully happy, but what can you do with this wedding gown (& veil) hanging in your closet? (Your husband is starting to complain about not having any closet space.)

Use pieces of your modest wedding gown to make jewelry. Wear it yourself and pass it down to your daughters someday. Earrings, necklaces, headbands, belts, bracelets.  Wedding gowns with long sleeves are perfect for this approach, since  you can shorten the sleeves, while leaving the rest of the gown intact, and use the removed material for creating your mementos.

Vintage Lace Pendants by Laura Beth Love

Have your wedding gown professionally preserved- either framed and hung to remember or to keep safe for your daughter or daughter-in-law to wear someday when they too want a modest wedding dress.

Have a professional seamstress remake the entire wedding gown into a blessing/christening dress or a baptism/confirmation dress.

If you want to keep most of the gown intact, the train of your wedding gown can be removed and used for creating little dresses or other mementos

Another great idea for a modest wedding gown with long sleeves, is to shorten the sleeves and use the removed fabric to create a purse or clutch from your gown. Lace looks good on everything!

Repurpose your old veil as a bed net for your master bedroom or for your new babies nursery.

Give your wedding gown to a worthy cause. Modest wedding dresses can be difficult to find, so sharing yours could bless the life of another bride-

Where did you and your husband meet?
1. My husband, Dakota Jacobs, and I met on a LDS dating app called Mutual. The funny thing about this is that my husband HATES that this is how we met. He always tells me that he thinks it is so cliche and that everything else about us dating was perfect but that. It makes me laugh every time we joke about it.

How did he propose?
2. Well here's a little background information. So our first date was on St. Patrick's Day on 25th St. in Ogden, UT. The night Dakota proposed was a sunday night and he asked me if I'd want to go for a drive. Obviously I'd be in sweats, me just thinking this was a casual night, he came to pick me up dressed nicely and I thought nothing of it. I then made the joke to him saying, "Hopefully it's okay that I'm wearing sweats, ha." He took me for a walk down 25th St. and had a whole thing staged with a photographer friend waiting to capture the moment. He had a other friend waiting in a restaurant on that same street with a sign that he made saying, "Josie will you marry me?" The whole thing was perfect and I loved all of the thought he put into it making it special to us.

Describe your wedding in 4 words:
3. Memorable, Perfect, Loving, Supportive

What did you splurge on?
4. We splurged on the wedding dress, photographer, and his suit.

What did you save on?
5. We saved on decor for the reception by making the center pieces, other decor, and by having family help with lighting and setting up for the reception.

What was your favorite part of the day?
6. My favorite part of our wedding day was just how loved I felt, how many people supported us and that I was now married to my best friend.

Any advise for future brides?
7. My advice to any future bride is to just go with the flow of everything and don't stress. Also to live in the moment of everything, it goes by too fast!

Where did you and your fiancé meet?
He bid on my cake at our ward blind date cake auction... and lost.

How did he propose?
He wrote down our love story and read it to me in front of my favorite monument, the Jefferson Memorial.

Describe your wedding in 4 words:
Romantic, classy, summery, inclusive

What did you splurge on/save on?
We splurged on photography and saved on decorations. We were so blessed to have so many people willing to share their time, talents, and possessions to make our event beautiful.

What was your favorite part of the day?
That's a tie between the ring ceremony and the first dance. The majority of our friends flying in for the wedding are not Mormon, and couldn't be there for our sealing. We chose to have a ring ceremony so that we could include everyone, and it was so beautiful. Our bishop encouraged us to write letters to each other, and we read them in front of everyone. It felt like there was so much love in the room. For the first dance, we had choreographed it and practiced for almost five months prior to the wedding, and it was exciting to perform it in front of everyone.

Any advice for future brides?
The best part of the day is having everyone that you love in the same room, celebrating with you and the person you love the most. It can be stressful, but let yourself relax. You made it!
