    ECD Bride Shelbie

Shelbie chose the sophisticated look of the Cypress wedding dress for her  wedding day, and she looked gorgeous in it!
Where did you and your fiancé meet?
We met by my sister screaming his name in the middle of the hall.

    How did he propose?
He took my whole family and I on a hike. At one of the spots on the hike there was a tower with a heart stone in the middle. The tower and heart stone was built by someone who had to be far away from his significant other. Since most of our relationship was long distance, he thought this story and tower would be the perfect place to propose.

Describe your wedding in 4 words:
    Simple, family-oriented, laid-back, and beautiful

What did you splurge on/save on?
We saved on our wedding venue! It was only $50 for a porta potty.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
My favorite part of the day was getting to take wedding pictures and spend time with my closest family and friends.

    Any advice for future brides?
Don't stress! It's supposed to be a happy time of your life. Enjoy every minute. Be sure to think about the kind of pictures you want to look back on because things will be too crazy on your wedding day

    Additional comments:
From the moment that I first saw an ECD dress online, I was in love and knew that my dream wedding dress was going to be there. When the time came, I found the perfect opportunity to go with my sister and closest friend. They let me try on a whole bunch of different styles to see which one I truly liked. They were all so beautiful, but I didn't feel like everyone had always told me I'd fee when I found THE dress. The person who helped me pulled out a dress that was totally not what I was looking for, BUT I am so grateful she did because THAT was the dress that I ended up choosing. I felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day because of that dress and have gotten so many compliments on it!

    Having my family all around

    Any advice for future brides?
Spend the extra money on your wedding photographer and get a wedding videographer you love. The wedding pictures and video capture the moments you don't want to forget. You may forget the details of the wedding flowers, the food the DJ and the venue, but you will have the pictures for ever, make them good.

    Additional comments:
COVID changed and altered our plans. We were able to relocate to a small backyard wedding, and my father was able to marry my husband and me. While 2020 has been challenging, I was still able to get married. Even if it wasn't the way I had envisioned or planned, I did not have everything on my list but the most important thing was the union of my now husband and me. At the end of the day, a wedding is a celebration of love. Celebrations come in more than one size, mine was still perfect in its simple way.
